Site Conditions: S-13, GeoTech 7505A, CMG-3NSN, and Kinemetrics
Episensor seismometers placed in a mostly buried vault. The vault is
built into Mesozoic-aged graywacke. Seismic piers are separated from floor.
The vault is located at the Sitka Geomagnetics Observatory. This is the oldest
continuously occupied seismometer site in Alaska. It was built in 1904 and
instrumented with a Bosch/Omori seismometer. The CMG-3NSN and Episensor
were installed in 1999 to US National Seismic Network specifications.
