Seismic Network Description
Last Updated: 5/2007
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The WCATWC records data from
seismometers operated by several seismic networks in
addition to its own network. Presently, approximately 250
channels of seismic data are routinely processed. Data from these networks
are transmitted to the WCATWC over both the internet and a private wide-area-network. Other agencies which provide seismic data
directly to the WCATWC are the National Earthquake
Information Center, IRIS/Albuquerque
Seismological Lab., IRIS/IDA (UC San Diego),
California Institute of Technology, USGS-Menlo Park, UC
Berkeley, U. of Washington, Earthquakes Canada, Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, U. of Alaska, Puerto Rico Seismic Network, Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, and the Alaska Volcano Observatory. The following maps
show data transmission paths from each of the sites to the WCATWC.
