West Coast/Alaska Tsunami Warning Center Seismometer Sites

Site Conditions: STS-2 and Kinemetrics Episensor seismometers placed in a small, concrete seismic vault on private land in Sand Point, Alaska. The vault is built on Tertiary basement rock. A CMG-3NSN and the Episensor were installed in 10/2001 to US National Seismic Network specifications. The CMG-3NSN was removed and an STS-2 installed on 8/27/02. A Nanometrics Trident digitizer replaced an HRD digitizer on 8/12/2004 and is used with Nanometrics VSAT communications equipment to transmit data.
