West Coast/Alaska Tsunami Warning Center Seismometer Sites
PMR
Site Conditions: S-13, GeoTech 7505A, and STS-2 seismometers
placed in a concrete vault. The vault is built into Mesozoic-aged
tuff. Seismic piers are separated from floor.
The vault is located approximately 1/2 mile from the West Coast/Alaska
Tsunami Warning Center. The USGS Alaska project based in Menlo Park
has an L4, short period seismometer name PLR located in the same vault.
The Anchorage Strong Motion project, headed by Niren Biswas of the
University of Alaska, has also installed a K2 strong motion sensor.
The STS-2 seismometer was installed in 2/1995.
