The original raw data was taken from the National Geophysical Data Center's ETOPO5 data set. This is a 5', world-wide grid of bathymetry and elevation. This data was edited with hydrographic charts over the areas of interest and then interpolated to the desired grid increment. The interpolated data was then edited again using the most detailed NOAA hydrographic charts available. NOTE! Only the bathymetric data has been edited in the data sets. The elevation data is unedited and is not reliable.
Within the files, data is listed along latitude lines starting with the northernmost latitude in the grid going from west to east. Data is given in meters with negative values below sea level. East/west grid increments are always the same as north/south increments. The table below lists the geographic limits of each grid and the grid increment. All grids are rectangular.
