Subject: Tsunami Information Statement issued 12/2/2008 at 5:50PM AKST

At 5:47 PM Alaskan Standard Time on December 2, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 4.2 occurred 50 miles/80 Km southeast of Burwash Landing, Yukon .

The magnitude and location are such that a tsunami WILL NOT be generated. This will be the only WCATWC message issued for this event.

The location and magnitude are based on preliminary information. Further information will be issued by the United States Geological Survey or the appropriate regional seismic network.
