Subject: Tsunami Information Statement issued 04/29/2008 at 8:06PM PDT

At 8:03 PM Pacific Daylight Time on April 29, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 5.0 occurred 35 miles/56 Km east of Eureka, California.

The magnitude and location are such that a tsunami WILL NOT be generated. This will be the only WCATWC message issued for this event.

The location and magnitude are based on preliminary information. Further information will be issued by the United States Geological Survey or the appropriate regional seismic network.
